Biography

Amy Ní Cholgáin is the writer and creator behind greenleafygael.com. Amy is an Irish vegan with a passion for sharing with her followers all things vegan-related including healthy recipes, vegan and cruelty-free beauty products, vegan and sustainable clothing brands and any new and exciting vegan products on the market. She roams the streets of all cities from Dublin to Barcelona searching for the best and most innovative vegan cafés, bars and restaurants. The hierarchy of Green Leafy Gael content goes something like: 1. vegan anything, 2. vegan health-promoting food, 3. environmentally-friendly anything, 4. Trees. Her talk will be a presentation in Irish where she’ll talk about her blogging journey, her favourite traditional Irish recipes; a bit of history into what people used to eat in Ireland (focusing on how the meat heavy diets of today are not actually traditional) and how certain things like boxty, soda bread and old style pancakes can be very easily veganised. No Irish? No problem. Amy will have lots of visuals to keep the audience who don’t understand Irish engaged and do the Q&A bit in both Irish & English.
