Jake Conroy hosts the podcast Radicals & Revolutionaries and can be found online as the Cranky Vegan, where he helps reimagine the tactics, strategies and optics of the grassroots animal rights movement and works at the Rainforest Action Network, an international organization using pressure campaigns to stop rainforest deforestation, fossil fuel extraction, and support human rights. The Cranky Vegan Patreon rasies funds for and donates to animal sanctuaries around the world.
Jake has been an activist since 1995, organising and participating in successful local, regional, national and international pressure campaigns. He helped build the foundation of the grassroots campaign SHAC USA, and was arrested by the US government for his role. In 2019, the Joaquin Phoenix produced documentary, The Animal People, was released detailing the campaign and the controversial court case.
Jake’s talks are well attended affairs where you can expect to hear the insightful lived, loved and loathed experience’s of someone who takes their relationship with the vegan and Animal Rights movements seriously.
