Biography
Gerard Prendergast is an Ultra Endurance Triathlete from Northside Dublin. Ger Is a Personal Trainer and Fitness coach whom has competed in and won one of the toughest Ultra endurance events ever. In October 2017 Ger not only completed DecaUK, 10 Ironman’s in 10 days, but he also won the event by more than four and a half hours ahead of his closest competitor. In 2018 Ger took on another massive challenge after teaming up with Mental Health Ireland to help raise funding and awareness for mental health and tasking himself with completing 52 Ironman’s in 52 weeks for 2018, one Ironman being a 3.8k swim, 180k cycle and a 42k marathon run. In July 2022 Ger retuned to the UK to race at DecaUK again although this time he entered into the continuous Deca which consists of a 38k swim, 1800k cycle and a 420k run. Again he won the event hours ahead of his competitors to become the first Irish person to complete a continuous Deca, the first Irish person to complete the two deca formats, course record holder and the longest triathlon done by an Irish person. Ger believes his plant based diet is a huge contributor to his ability to complete these big events and races.
