A literal and figurative hunger led Suzanna to create Banana Melon Kitchen, an innovative plant-based, food start-up based in Cork city bai. After moving to a more plant based diet in college, Suzanna couldn’t find any decent vegan food – so decided to make her own. Having a background in art, design and computer science, she started BMK as a fusion of food and art. Wanting to create edible alchemy with an emphasis on colour and creativity, and of course, using plants only! Melinn, originally from Clare, started with a stage in Paradiso in 2017 after moving to Cork and since then has done a number of food/art collaborations, with OHK Kinsale, Brown Thomas, Design pop and the Glass Curtain. BMK have also been featured in the Irish times “50 people to watch ”. Beyond this, Banana Melon Kitchen has started making addictive vegan cheese She is currently she is in the process of giving the cheese a makeover of the before selling the cheeze nationwide…….watch this space.
