Tracey Ryan is the owner of Bia Beauty, Cork-based cosmetic business. It was her passion for flowers that led her to study Herbal Science at Cork Institute of Technology. And it was during this four year degree that the idea for Bia Beauty grew. She made a 100% natural moisturiser as part of a college project and sold it locally at farmers markets. The response was so positive that she continued to make and sell it long after the project had ended.
Also during this time her little son Feidhlim was born. While pregnant, she, like most new mums-to-be became really concerned about what she was putting into and onto her body. She began to make all the families skin care and toiletries; shampoos, nappy creams, moisturisers etc.
She loved the idea of combining food and skin care. The ingredients she was using were food; nut and seed oils, fruits, herbs, spices, cocoa butter, avocado butter. She was literally feeding the skin!
And so Bia Beauty was born. Bia Beauty is now stocking over 100 stores across Ireland and is beginning to export. Their products and business have received many awards such as Tatler Beauty Award 2013, Network Cork Business Woman of the Year 2014 and Cork Innovates Bursary 2014.
Tracey will join us at Dublin Vegfest on Saturday 22nd September for a demo focusing on making some high quality vegan self care products.
